About Us

We work closely with the SPCA PV to facilitate the adoption and, when necessary, foster of the animals from the Sanctuary in Puerto Vallarta. These animals have been fully vetted, have complete health papers and are medically cleared to travel. Each animal we help leaves room for another abused, abandoned or neglected street dog to take it's place at the no-kill Sanctuary animal shelter.

This facility does incredible work, and we are proud to support their continued efforts. The Sanctuary is run 100% on your donations, please help us to help them!

Our History

In 2007, long time PV resident Janice Chatterton founded the SPCAPV. The Sanctuary opened in 2012 - a no-kill shelter that can house up to 130 animals.

The abused and homeless dogs of PV get a second chance at the happy life they deserve and are most often adopted into amazing homes in Canada. PVCA was founded as a registered Canadian Charity to facilitate the adoption of these dogs and to support the spay and neuter efforts to help to control the population of homeless dogs in Puerto Vallarta. Dog adoption changes lives!

Our Mission

Our Mission is to facilitate the adoption and fostering of dogs needing a second chance at life. We follow strict protocols to ensure the emotional and physical health of the animals who come into our care, and ultimately find loving homes in Canada.

It is our passion to ensure that our dogs are never failed again and that they will know the joy and love that they so deserve. We support our rescues and their adopters for life, building a relationship and a community who share our vision. It takes a village, and we have an amazing one! Please join us.
