PEACE Punta de Mita (formerly PEACE Mexico) is a nonprofit organization working in the Bay of Banderas, Mexico, and beyond to increase educational and economic opportunities through community development programs in the areas of education, environment, and economic development.

PEACE determined that to influence social change within the local villages that would endure over time, it should create programs designed on the principle of “a hand-up, not a hand-out”. A large percentage of the villagers are under-educated, relatively poor, and with limited employability scope. PEACE recognized the best chance for success would be to invest in the younger generation - the children and youths - from kinder to high school inclusive. Having a longer view, with longer term objectives, focusing on education for the younger generation, has the best chance to effect lasting change, and that is the basis of all PEACE programs.

Our belief is that we can leave a positive legacy in our country. Each person who makes up the PEACE team contributes, broadening the path of opportunities for current and future generations. By strengthening fundamental values, our students gain knowledge, improving academically and personally, ensuring the achievement of their goals.

Our main motivation is to see the development of students in our PEACE programs, opening possibilities in an integral way. We are confident that our work makes a difference and has a positive impact on the lives of our community, now and in the future.
