There are lots of reasons why people take the time to get involved with community projects. We think that more people would get involved if they just knew how. Here is our listings of committees and projects that can use your help. Just donating a few hours per week or month can make all the difference!

• Do you want to meet likeminded individuals with similar interests?

We meet at 9:00 a.m. the first Saturday of every month at the Ixta Restaurant on Lazaro Cardenas for a self-serve buffet breakfast. Reservations must be made if you wish to eat.

We then hear how we and our associate charities are getting on, what events are on the calendar, and a general exchange of information in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

Our current projects are: Recycling; Trash cans and general street beautification; John Ozello Memorial Food Bank; Spay n Neuter; Special Needs; Tercera Edad (Seniors facility). We support our associate charities: BBCC (community centre); Biblioteca Rey Nayar; Investours; Manos de Amor (orphanage).

Whether you are coming to Bucerias for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or to settle down permanently, you can play an important role in helping the charity of your choice to make a difference.
