We are a civil non-profit association founded in the year 2000, which seeks to balance social inequality through support for vulnerable groups, institutions and families to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.

Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Vallarta A.C.. collects, selects and distributes perishable foods and non-perishable food to the needy in our area.

We seek to recover and take advantage of all the 100% edible food that is normally wasted.

We create awareness among producers and distributors to avoid waste, allowing us to receive the most usable products. Each food is classified and only those foods most likely to be used for human consumption are chosen.

We have a base of more than 5 thousand persons, of these 56% are beneficiaries belonging to those vulnerable groups including children and the elderly.

Our Food Bank of Puerto Vallarta serves about 38 colonies, populations and rural communities in the municipalities of Puerto Vallarta, Cabo Corrientes and Bahía de Banderas.

Our mission is to combat hunger and malnutrition through labor and citizen awareness aimed at promoting social welfare.

Our vision is to continue to be an organization of recognized excellence with efficiency in the management of food resources.

We help the banco-de-alimentospvmost vulnerable of our population, reaching all families in need of food, in addition to marginalized urban and rural communities, social welfare institutions, adults in poverty situations, children in preventing malnutrition and
older adults.

We currently serve the following communities:

• Puerto Vallarta: El Colorado, Lomas del Valle, Tebelchía, Jardines Ixtapa, Col. Magisterio, Mismaloya, El Nogalito, Jardines, Los Ramblases, Col Villa de Guadalupe, Col. Del Toro, Col. Brisas del Pacífico, Col. San Miguel, Col. 12 de Octubre, Col. Hermosa Provincia, Col. López Mateos, Col. Canoas, Col. La Primavera, Col. Bobadilla, Col. Vista Hermosa, Col. Vista Dorada, Col. Mojoneras, Las Juntas, Ixtapa, Col. Guadalupe Victoria.
• Cabo Corrientes: Las Juntas y Los Veranos, Boca de Tomatlán, El Tuito.
• Bahía de Banderas: Valle Dorado, Mezcalitos, Bucerías, El Porvenir, San Vicente, Mezcales

We currently distribute about 38 tons of perishable and non-perishable food monthly.

We have 7 employees including operators of traffic, wholesalers, social workers, director and assistant director.

Volunteer work is very important for our institution and we currently have 30 volunteers attending once a week, distributed in teams of 5 volunteers per day, who are supported with a weekly food pantry.

We have 6 vehicles, one of which carries refrigerated food.

Our beneficiaries are not always constant. We are constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to help with children and families which change over time.

We receive donations in cash and in kind. We offer tax deductible receipts for the donations, in addition to tax benefits you will receive in supporting our cause.
