The new tunnel of the libramiento (bypass) Luis Donaldo Colosio has been finally open for vehicles on Sunday, January 6.
The tunnel is one of the most important improving works on Puerto Vallarta infrastructure, as it will mean a better and faster circulation of vehicles through a problematic area.
The new tunnel got even more important once the new Malecon was closed for vehicles, which meant more traffic through the libramiento.
Nevertheless, at the moment the new tunnel is getting circulation from both sides, as the old tunnel will get some improvement works in order to offer the same quality as the new one.
Once finished with the works on the old tunnel, Puerto Vallarta's downtown will finally get some much needed help on its vehicles circulation problems.
The authorities recommend to drive with caution in the area, as it is a new road and people will need time to get used to it.
Slowly and little by little, Puerto Vallarta is getting, one by one, the landmark works that were so badly needed.
