2012 is almost over and if you're planning to celebrate the New Year in Puerto Vallarta, we have some fun suggestions for you.

Start December 31st in a way you wouldn't at home... with a trip to the beach! The water can be a little chilly at this time of year but enjoying the sand, sun and surf is a great way to spend the last day of the year.

With so many choices of restaurants, bars, lounges, nightclubs and more, the Puerto Vallarta Malecon will be a party of its own! Just walking along you'll find live music, DJ's, artists and at midnight, the fireworks spectacular.

Many restaurants throughout Banderas Bay, offer special New Year's Eve menus, so we strongly recommend that you reserve in advance.

There will be hundreds of local families sharing dinner and waiting to ring in 2013 on the beach along the Malecon and visitors should feel free to do the same. Arrive early with your beach chairs and blankets to secure a great spot.

And New Year's Eve will be celebrated in all of the hotels in Puerto Vallarta. Ask your concierge about the night's plans which often include live entertainment, special menus, midnight toasts and children's events.
