The locals of Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta scored big this week when the National Lottery distributed five million pesos to the winners in the States of Sonora and Jalisco/Nayarit on Wednesday.
The winning lottery tickets were sold in Plaza Caracol, Puerto Vallarta, and also in the WalMart store in Nuevo Vallarta.
The blocks of ten tickets are sold for 100 pesos and this is the third occasion that the winning ticket was either purchased at Plaza Caracol or WalMart.
The "El Gordito" ("Chubby") lottery sweepstakes continues weekly with ten million pesos in prizes in two series.
The National Lottery has announced the next huge jackpot of "El Gordo" ("Fatty") will be determined on December 24 with a shared jackpot of 150 million pesos in three series. This sweepstakes is the largest and most important national jackpot of the year.
In 2008, the lucky Puerto Vallarta winner collected seven million pesos from the "El Gordo" sweepstakes.
