First International Festival of the Sisterhood in Puerto Vallarta Visit Puerto Vallarta

The World Association Sister Cities AC, The Sister Cities Committee Puerto Vallarta/Mission Texas, the Sister Cities Committee Puerto Vallarta/Highland Park and the National Association of Sister Cities Mexico/United States, are honored to invite you to the First International Festival of the Sisterhood in Puerto Vallarta.

The event will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 6:00 pm in Teatro Vallarta.

The festival aims to promote friendship between peoples, as well as participate in projects linking common benefit and recognize those who promote the arts.

Also, to honor those who support a culture of altruism, philanthropy and solidarity between people, that noble and great effort by institutions in favor of others in our beloved Puerto Vallarta.

The program will begin with an animation of the event by the Assembly Higher School Orchestra Puerto Vallarta, followed by:

• Opening
• Welcome to the attendees by Puerto Vallarta’s City Mayor, Mr. Ramón Guerrero Martinez.
• Why the First International Festival of the Sisterhood in Puerto Vallarta was established, by Mr. Antonio Lugo Morales, President of the International Association of Sister Cities of Puerto Vallarta, AC, and President of the Sister Cities Puerto Vallarta/Mission Texas, AC
• Presentation of the Promotional Video of the Tourism Trust of Puerto Vallarta.
• Participation and performance by Salvador Rodriguez Aldrete Master Pianist, Musical Coordinator and producer of the song "Puerto Vallarta Querido" ("Puerto Vallarta My Love").
• Presentation of a video on the work of painter Javier Niño Rodriguez.
• Recognition for their outstanding participation in the First International Festival of the Sisterhood in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, by the Trust for Tourism of Puerto Vallarta, Latin Show International Super Orchestra, Ballet Folklorico Municipal "Xiutla" and the Mariachi "Joya de Mexico."
• Recognition by the art community of Puerto Vallarta, to Maestro Javier Niño Rodriguez, for his outstanding promotion of Fine Arts in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the world.
• Recognition to Master Salvador Rodriguez Aldrete for his great contribution and musical education for the people of Puerto Vallarta, as well as his great humanity in social charity events.
• Recognition to the Consular Agent of the United States of America in Puerto Vallarta, Mrs. Kelly Trainor and to Mr. Dennis Whitelaw for their support of philanthropic institutions through the "International Altruism Festival in Puerto Vallarta."
• Recognition to Professor Carlos Enrique Barrios Limón, for his 18 years as Director of Ballet Folklorico Municipal Xiutla and as the founder of this group which has put Puerto Vallarta's name in the map of Mexican folklore nationally and internationally.
• Recognition to theater teacher and director Alberto Fabian, playwright, actor and director, for his contribution, encouragement and support new values of stagecraft in Puerto Vallarta.
• Recognition to sublime cultural promoter of the University of Guadalajara, Dr. Gustavo Angeles Garcia.
• Presentation of "Puerto Vallarta Querido" song in Spanish and English, by Latin Show International Super Orchestra, with arrangements by the Orchestra.
• Recognition to Mr. Norberto “Beto” Salinas, Mayor of the Sister City of Puerto Vallarta/Mission Texas, for his tireless efforts in support of the twinning of sister cities in Mexico and the United States, recognition which will be delivered through the honorable Ambassadors who honor the event with their presence.
• Presentation of awards for outstanding participation in the First International Festival of the Brotherhood in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Their Excellencies Ambassadors accredited in Mexico, through Mr. Doctor Iduñate Eduardo Ramirez, President of the World Association of Sister Cities A.C., Mr. Antonio Lugo Morales, President of the International Association of Sister Cities of Puerto Vallarta, AC Mrs. Oliva Izaguirre Nanni, president of the National Association of Sister Cities Mexico/United States.
• Recognition by their Excellencies Ambassadors, to Mr. Phil Steward for his philanthropic support towards Puerto Vallarta.
• Signing of Membership of the International Sister Cities Association of Puerto Vallarta AC, with the World Association of Sister Cities AC, with Their Excellencies Ambassadors accredited in Mexico as witnesses of honor.

This will be followed by the Ballet Folklorico Municipal Xiutla, with a stamp of dance of Mexico; the presentation of International Mariachi "Joya de Mexico"; participation of Mexican International Tenor Jorge Jimenez and recognition of  his outstanding participation in the First International Festival of Sisterhood in Puerto Vallarta.

Closing ceremony will follow.

Teatro Vallarta is located in El Centro at Uruguay 184, just south of LEY’S grocery store on the main street as you enter downtown.
