The Municipal Ballet Xiutla offers a performance every Friday at 7:30 pm in the Lazaro Cardenas Plaza and every Sunday on the stage of Los Arcos del Malecon at 8:00 pm.

18 years ago the dream of Professor Carlos Enrique Barrios y Limón began, current Director and Choreographer of the Ballet Municipal of Danza "Xiutla."

It currently has more than 250 children, and has performed 700 thousand presentations and multiple tours locally, nationally and internationally.

Xiutla takes place every Friday in the Lazaro Cardenas Plaza in the framework of a six-month season that has been carried out for six consecutive years. At exactly 7:30 pm, you can see a scenario with multiple colors and hundreds of spectators enjoying the wonder of Mexican folklore.

Los Arcos del Malecon is a scenario that looks lovely during every Xiutla presentation, where hundreds of people gather every Sunday at 8:00 pm to enjoy this great show, and for 2 hours, these youngsters gain the public’s admiration and affection.

During early April, the Xiutla Ballet was invited for the first time to the Fourth World Festival of Dance and Arts Michoacan 2012, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Folkloric Ballet Yurécuaro, being considered the most important festival of dance in the state of Michoacan.

The joy of these young dancers is contagious during each performance, along with their discipline and perfectly coordinated steps with the music. Their clothes are finely designed and festivities are part of their show.
