The weekly Thursday night art walk in Bucerias held its first Bucerias Art showing on November 1st, and will continue throughout the winter season until April for the Riviera Nayarit high season.

The Art Walk in Bucerias was created by Christy Beguesse 6 years ago bringing the arts to the streets in Bucerias, Mexico.

The Bucerias Art Walk Plaza in its annual tradition, offers up tamales and sangria. While sipping on the sangria you can browse through the shops in the plaza; The Winged Iguana, A Broken Art, Splash of Glass and My Mexican Kitchen, who offers fun cooking classes. Pacific Boutique Properties, located in the front has a nice display of Jewelry by Jorge.

The Art Walk in Bucerias is definitely a tourist and locals favorite evening to walk and visit the art galleries and other stores, sipping on wine and sampling tasty snacks at each business, meeting the owners and artists, discovering great art selections and perhaps making a purchase, as well as meeting lots of new friends.

We opened our new Bucerias Art Gallery and Drop in Art Studio smack dab in the middle of the action. Having the art walk in Bucerias is a bonus to everyone in the Bucerias area.

Next door to the Drop in Art Gallery is the Bucerias Bodyworks & Spa. The owner, Linda Small offers a great massage, and also has hand crafted natural soaps with essential oil blends such as lemongrass. Some are designed as delectable cupcakes, packaged and ready to go! Linda also makes her own delicious body butters. The fragrances are gender neutral, making them great for everyone, and the perfect gift!

Just about every restaurant and shop participates in this weekly evening walk. They bring in entertainment, artists and serve appetizers and refreshments.

For the tourists, it brings a unique and one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Boutiques such as Jan Marie Boutique, on the corner of Lazaro Cardenas and Galeana offers everthing you desire for home furnishings,decoration and art, as well as the Jan Marie Talavera Gallery serving local Mexican wines, located just across the street and next to Mark’s Bar and Grill. Mark’s Bar and Grill has really incredible cuisine, with the recipes created by Jan Benton. Go for dinner, or drinks if you are still hungry and thirsty after the Bucerias Thursday Art Walk!

Meet the Bucerias Artists

For the artists,  they have an opportunity to present their work and passion to hundreds each and every week...and perhaps make a sale. No need for starving artists and homes with naked walls or reproduced prints! Instead you can find a 300 peso original treasure up to a 30,000 peso dynamic art piece. It’s also fun to come in and meet and talk with the artists.

The Art Walk in Bucerias has something for everybody. It gives the beginner art collector an easy way to step in and the more serious collector multiple options.

When you are in town or heading this way, mark your calendar for the Art Walk in Bucerias on Thursdays 7-9 pm. Stroll the streets, visit the numerous shops and galleries and bring a few extra dollars. Treat yourself to the pleasure of original art or bring home a gift and support the art community.
