Sayulita is well known as a fun village full of art galleries, cute shops, fun restaurants and of course, great waves!

This surfer´s paradise has became one of the most renowned surf destinations in the world. Its beach welcomes surfers from all skill levels all year round.

In the past years, a new modality of surf has been growing in followers, placing it as one of the most popular water activities in the area: the Standup Paddle Surf. Every year for the past 3 years Sayulita has hosted the Punta Sayulita Classic, one of the biggest SUP race events gathering the best surfers for two days of fun and exciting competitions.

At being a surfers' paradise, it is not a surprise that Sayulita has great contenders, and thanks to Punta Sayulita a couple of the local boys have been able to travel around the USA and Hawaii to compete at various SUP events, and let us tell you that their results have been terrific!

Last week, the guys participated in the Rainbow Sandals Gerry Lopez Battle of the Paddle in Dana Point, where they competed against the best SUP racers in the world! And we are very happy to tell you that Sayulita´s representatives got excellent results:

• Men's Elite Race Final - Ryan Helm (10th Place); Fernando Stalla (20th)
• Men's Distance Race - 14 ft Division - Fernando Stalla  placed 10th in Class (12th overall); Ryan Helm placed 19th in Class (23 overall)
• SUP Relay Race - Ryan & Fernando teamed-up with Candice Appleby & Anthony Vella on Team Quickblade and finished 2nd!

We are very proud of you guys! Way to go!

And we have more good news! The dates for the next Punta Sayulita Classic have been set, so mark your calendars, because March 8th – 10th will be SUP madness days in Sayulita.
