A forty-foot Bluebird school bus bursting with dog and cat food, leashes, collars, toys, bowls, parasite treatments, ID tags, puppy pads, crates, kennels, cat litter, and so much more promises aid to the under-funded and over-populated animals of the Lake Chapala region.
The tireless volunteers of The Meximutt Project (a subsidiary of the Portland-based Born Again Pitt Bull Rescue, developed by Angela Adams to serve the strays and street dogs of Mexico) brave over 4,200 km and cold nights, standing guard of the precious cargo by sleeping on 50-pound bags of dog food in the bus at truck stops nightly.
These women fight relentlessly on behalf of the animals, stopping at nothing to provide food, medicine, sterilization services, adoption opportunities, and the possibility for each soul to live their best life.
Catherine-Claire, of Chapala, Jalisco, and Angela, of Portland, Oregon wind their way through the winter weather of the USA with nothing more than faith in humanity that they reach their goal of $2,000 USD in order to pay the customs/duties imposed for the treasured benefactions by the time they reach the Texas-Mexico border.
If weather permits, they hope to reach the border by February 28th, leaving but a few remaining days to collect sufficient funds to pay taxes. Help them help the animals...
