Saturday, October 6, we will be hosting a NON event to raise emergency funds for the girls of Corazón de Niña.
Melissa Canez, the Director, does not have money for food or urgent medical care! This is truly an emergency for her. We're working on several projects to get long-term support for Corazon, but we need your help NOW!
The benefit is in support of Corazón de Niña, a local non-profit children’s shelter dedicated to providing housing, education, food, medical care and love to young girls who have been removed from shockingly abusive situations.
Corazón de Niña survives solely on private donations and is putting out a plea for emergency funding for food and urgent medical care for the month of October.
The Corazón de Niña PV Shelter for Girls opened in July of 2012. Though slated for opening in December, Corazón de Niña opened early in response to the closing of another children's home for girls. Overnight, Melissa Canez, the home's Director, accepted 13 girls aged 9 to 18, as well as a 21-year old young woman.

Here’s how it works: Sue, Ray, and myself (your ...irresistible hosts) will be at the Cheeky Monkey on the Malecon from 6:30 to 9:00 pm having cheap drinks.
Come by and have a beer with us and drop some cash in the jar for the girl's home. Anything helps: 50, 100, 200 pesos or more!
A NON event means you don’t have to dress up, suffer through a silent auction, or listen to a long speech. You can drop by for a moment while you’re on your way to dinner, or sit and enjoy the incomparable company of your crazy hosts.
There are no event costs so 100% of the money goes to Corazón to pay for food and medical care for the girls.
