Investours is looking for hardworking, motivated students who are passionate about international development. (InvestoursInc)

Investours, an international social enterprise working at the intersection of microfinance and tourism, is offering several upcoming opportunities in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to become involved with their work.

There are multiple opportunities for 2013 — Winter, Spring, and Summer internships. The winter program begins January 2, 2013.

The opportunities will take you to Bucerias, Nayarit — a vibrant seaside village 40 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta — where you’ll gain a new perspective about the "real Mexico."

Here are some of the projects interns will assist with:

Microfinance Impact Assessment (Spanish speakers only)
    
Administer surveys to Investours loan recipients to determine the social impact of our program, evaluating areas such as improved economic stability and social health.

Fair Trade Production and Sales

Participate in the workshops of Investours’ women’s jewelry cooperative, the Quetzal Collective, and later help to promote and sell their products.

Marketing and Photography
    
Take photographs and design promotion materials for Investours’ tour products and develop a distribution plan. Manage Investours’ social media platforms.

Community Outreach (Spanish speakers only)
    
Prepare new microfinance clients for participation on our tours, helping with tasks such as overall presentation and business cards.

NGO Development and Event Planning
    
Work closely with Investours staff to plan our annual "Women Mean Business" fundraising event, in addition to brainstorming development strategies and future fundraising events.
