The Vallarta Botanical Garden cordially invites you to our first edition of the Raicilla Festival on Sunday, August 1, 2021.
For those who are not very familiar with the subject, raicilla is a kind of mezcal (tequila) that is obtained from various types of agave and that in 2019 obtained the Jalisco designation of origin. The festival features the aim of promoting the work of the raicillero producers in the region.
Among the activities that will be carried out at the Raicilla Festival 2021 are exhibitions and special tastings of the various producers of this agave distillate, exhibitions on the process of making this drink dating from the 16th century, as well as the material premium used for its creation, by experts from the municipality of Cabo Corrientes, one of the main producing areas in the state of Jalisco.
Schedule
11:00 am: Inauguration with participants and authorities.
11:30 am - 3:00 pm: Exhibition and tasting of the different raicillas of Cabo Corrientes.
12:30 - 1:30 pm: Pencil drawing contest.
Free category
Theme: Production of raicilla. Prize: 1st and 2nd place.
2:00 pm: Presentation of the youth Mariachi "Los nietos".
3:00 pm: Drawing awards and presentation of prizes to the producers.
Entrance fee is 200 pesos per person, for all non-members. Members get in for FREE. Cost for residents of Cabo Corrientes 100 pesos.
