Hairdressers Unite in Fight Against AIDS in Vallarta Paco Arjona - SETAC-GLBT

"Hairdressers Against AIDS Vallarta" comes from the original initiative of the L'Oreal Paris Corporation's "Coiffeurs Fights AIDS."

Supported by UNESCO, this initiative was presented in the Global Village at the XVII International AIDS Conference 2008 in Mexico City, as "Hairdressers against AIDS."

From that date, the desire of implementing the initiative in Puerto Vallarta has always been present.

After a long series of unsuccessful attempts to contact the creators, we finally decided to put it out there with the resources, initiative and creativity of SETAC. This, along with the support of the most renowned stylists and the committed and socially responsible sponsors, will finally make this project into a reality.

In this strategy, stylists are the key players, who, after training, will play an important role in raising awareness about HIV / AIDS, using the relationship they have with a lot of people who rely on them daily to become in many cases friends and confidants.

The stylists will be able to answer basic questions about HIV / AIDS, how and what is a rapid test including testing locations, and will have condoms and lubricants available in their salons.

The AIDS virus is still present and is gaining ground every day.

The fight against AIDS needs many voices, which is why we invite you to join this great event where we recognize and appreciate the Puerto Vallarta stylists for agreeing to be the spokespersons of this campaign in our Hair Spray Night kick-off of "Hairdressers Against AIDS Vallarta."

Join us for a great night of runway, fantasy hair creations, Diva, Catherinne, a night of raffles, surprises, magic and glamour on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at SKY Mandala Lounge & Disco on the Malecon (corner of Abasolo).
