The use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs can affect anyone without distinction of sex, age or socio-economic and cultural status.

Substance dependence is a disease that impacts the whole society and not only the people who suffer from it, so actions must be promoted to promote healthy lifestyles, in which families and society in general participate.

In this context and as part of the commemorative activities of the 50th Anniversary of the Youth Integration Centers, A.C. acknowledges "International Day of the Fight against the Improper Use and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs" and Youth Integration Centers (CIJ) establishes various actions to strengthen the preventive and curative care work that it provides.

A way to promote "Healthy Lifestyles" in the population through promoting sports, since it is proven that it promotes physical and mental health, healthy social relationships and generates thoughts and behaviors that help self-care and decision-making. It also reduces the development of violent behavior and strengthens coexistence and family integration.

In the case of people who are in the process of rehabilitation due to the consumption of drugs, sport generates the development of universal structures of judgment, coexistence and responsibility; it promotes the capacities for the acquisition of knowledge and the reestablishment of values and structures of healthy coexistence.

In this sense, CIJ will carry out the 16th Race Against Addictions, in coordination with the Municipal Sports Council (COMUDE) on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 8:00 in the morning.

Registrations are still open and registrations will be accepted beginning at 7:00 am on the morning of the race.

It should be noted that the departure flag of the runners, will be in charge of the Mtra. Candelaria Tovar de Dávalos President of the Municipal DIF System of Puerto Vallarta, together with the LCP. José Amador Hernández Madrigal, Director of COMUDE, Mtro. Oscar Daniel, Zamora Cuevas, Director of TEC Puerto Vallarta, CP. Carlos Arturo Contreras Rebollo, President of the Board of CIJ Puerto Vallarta and his associates.

On the other hand, it is important to emphasize that being a recreational rather than competitive event, the entire population is invited to participate in a walk, bike, skateboard, with their families and pets in order to promote a healthy coexistence.

Likewise, a "Health Fair" will be installed simultaneously at the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Unit from 7:30 to 10:00 am, in which various institutions, apart from CIJ, will announce the services offered to the community in health matters, such as: COMUSIDA, Women's Institute, Alcoholics Anonymous (Puerto Vallarta Intergroup Office), CAPASITS, DIF (Preverp Program), Alanon, CAPA Puerto Vallarta and SETAC.

There are 200 commemorative medals that will be given to the first 200 people who reach the finish line.

At the end of the race several courtesies will be raffled among all participants (both runners and walkers), which have been granted by different sponsors, which at another time, I will make a special mention for support.
