If you want to have a great time at the beach but don't want to leave town then you should know about this great alternative, right in the middle of the hotel zone and in front of the Holiday-Inn hotel and next to the Pitillal river you will find the locally know as "la playa del holi."

This beach was named by the locals after the popular hotel that sits on it. The beach area is nice and it's equipped to welcome people off the street, has its own parking area and public restrooms.

Just like the rest of the bay, this beach is full of activities including the Puerto Vallarta classics: para-sailing, banana ride and jet skis.

In this sandy beach you can relax and read a book or get in to the action for some tropical fun, the decision is yours.

Vallarta's traditional "beach food" is also part of the buzz in this popular spot, people selling this finger food delicacies walk up and down offering fish and shrimp on a stick, fresh fruit salads, pastry, home-made bread and nuts, among other things.

During the high season this is very often a location for concerts and sporting events.

You don't have to go too far to enjoy a nice day at the beach in town. just grab a taxi cab and ask him to take you to "La Playa del Holi."
