Natalia Diaz was crowned as Queen of the Fiesta Patrias 2012 in the event accompanied by the folk group Xiutla.

The selection of the Fiesta Queen was the start of Puerto Vallarta's Independence Day celebrations, the Fiestas Patrias 2012.

The Sunday night storm did not damper the enthusiasm of the crowd and hundreds of people attended and were festive and full of emotion as Miss Diaz was crowned by the Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Salvador González Resendiz.

The festivities began at 8:00 pm, attended by the judges, media, city council members and previous crown winners from 1984 and 1986. Relatives and friends crowded around close in anticipation of the announcement.

The front hall of the City Hall was the perfect framework for the pageant that consisted of two stages, where the young ladies wore evening gowns.

The first stage offered a message in relation to the independence of Mexico, and the ladies offered a beautiful procession on the second stage.

Of course, the most anticipated moment came with the delivery of the Crowns.

First, a beautiful bouquet of roses was delivered to Miss Sympathy, Michelle Stephanie Rubio. The second Princess was  Kenya Noemi Íñiguez Grano, representing Universidad Arcos. The first Princess and Miss Photogenic was Alma Mística Aguilar Rosas, representing Colegio de Juana de Asbaje. Natalia Díaz, representing Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA), was then crowned as Queen of the Fiesta Patrias 2012.

To close the event, Natalia stated that she was proud and extremely happy to be awarded the crown, showing off its beauty and looking radiant in a beautiful black dress.
