Riviera Nayarit is the backdrop for the seven golf courses that have been endorsed by the Mexican Golf Federation.

These have attracted the most important course designers around the world, and therefore the Flamingos Golf Course is being upgraded.

Flamingos was built in 1970 and has been the cornerstone of the touristic development in Nuevo Vallarta.

"We're extending all the par-3 tee boxes, in order to provide a much better experience for our players. Additionally, we're completely upgrading the 2nd hole," said Claudi Staines, Course Manager.

Players with different skill levels enjoy the Flamingos Golf Course, as it is moderately difficult and has a mature design. Also, it sets itself apart from other local courses by having hills, abundant tropical flora, lagoons and mangroves. Nature lovers will be struck by the unspoiled scenery and the presence of various tropical and migrating bird species.

Flamingos Golf is a 6853 yard long par 72 championship course with slightly narrow fairways that are naturally laid out on gently sloping terrain. The course has Bermuda grass in both fairways and greens and has 9 water hazards and 43 bunkers, most of which protect the approaches into its slightly fast greens.

Flamingos has an excellent design that will allow you to obtain dramatic results if you plan your strategy well and play target golf. This includes not only ball placement on fairways but also club selection on holes that have ocean breeze and smart pitching.

The course has 4 tee-off marks and will accommodate long and short distance hitters and will provide the right level of challenge for players of different levels.

In addition, Flamingos Golf has a 230 yard long practice range with grass tee-off and putting green facilities. There is a Pro Shop where you can arrange for golf lessons, rental clubs or caddies. Also available are golf professional and course marshals who will eagerly help you with any aspect of your game.

Summer rates at Flamingos for Daylight play is $111 US, with weekday Twilight play (after 3:30 pm) for $45 US. Winter rates are $140 US for Daylight play, $75 US for Weekday after 2:00 pm and $40 every day after 3:30 pm. (Prices may vary without previous notice).

All green fees include taxes, golf cart (2 players), 25 balls for practice range, 2 bottles of water in cart and club storage. During the winter, transportation is available to major Puerto Vallarta Hotels (on scheduled departures).
