New Town Plaza Under Way in Chacala, Nayarit Lindy - All Chacala Mexico

Chacala, located on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico just north of San Francisco (San Pancho), is undergoing some beautification and improvements as they are building a new Town Plaza!

While there were constant rumors regarding improvements, the proof is in seeing those bulldozers swing into action! The traditional main plaza (zocolo) that we see in every village seemed to have bypassed Chacala completely. Oh so sad.

However, we are now watching a miracle take place as the addition of the SECOND plazita is now officially under construction! This new plaza has started being implemented directly in front of the quaint stained glass church just off the beach.

The plan is for flowers and greenery shading little bench areas as well as complete "pedestrian only" for the street that was once a thoroughfare. This will ensure yet another area for locals to congregate, wedding parties to loiter, music nights to be held, or just a nice area to sit and relax under the umbrella of the giant palms.

The expected completion date is set for one month, but we all know how that goes, so maybe wait to pack that picnic for a few months and come along, check it out and enjoy beautiful Chacala as the transformations enhance it even more! The first town square is more like a large walkway to the beach. This new addition will be fun!
