Tourists and locals arrive by boat to enjoy the small hidden beach at Colomitis Cove, south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. (BARBARA TAYLOR The London Free Press)

The small hidden beach at Colomitis Cove, south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is a sweet spot for locals and tourists alike.

The popular reservations-only Ocean Grill Restaurant and Beach Club is perched on a cliff overlooking the tiny treasure.

Most people arrive by boat, including a water taxi operated by the restaurant but it’s also possible to hike through the jungle to the beach, one of several secluded stops on boat tours of the beautiful clear-water Bay of Banderas.
