The renowned artist Cecilia Beaven is the first of a series of artists who painted creative designs in three crosswalks of Puerto Vallarta, two located on Calle Morelos across from the Malecon and the other in Marina Vallarta by the Whale sculpture.

This is an initiative that seeks to generate new artistic landmarks in the city that serve to create visual experiences and new motives for photographing and sharing on social networks, said the Director of the Tourism Board, Agustin Alvarez Valdivia.

The designs for the "zebra crossings" were approved by the municipal authorities in considering that this is an initiative that provides visual creativity to the area, and generates new attractions that will be appreciated by the local community and the thousands of tourists who visit us.

It is noteworthy that at any given time will be opportunity for local artists to participate in such actions, as has already happened in some cases.

Such interventions are very attractive in large cities, urban art, graffiti and artistic paintings on streets, walls and buildings generate a high visual impact and become attractive to generate many reproductions in social networks.

Cecilia Beaven (Mexico, 1986) is an independent visual artist whose work is mainly developed around drawing as a visual discipline and way of thinking and understanding life. She also explores other media such as painting (with a special interest in the murals and large-scale projects), animation and new media art, while maintaining a graphical structure. She obtained a BA in Visual Arts at the "ENPEG, La Esmeralda" (the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Etching)in Mexico City and graduated with honors.

Her work has been shown collectively in exhibitions and festivals in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Tijuana, United States, Colombia, Sweden and Italy; and she has had solo exhibitions in Mexico City. She was part of the "Scribe Billboard" winning a Cannes Lion. She was commissioned to paint a section of the border wall between Mexico and the US in Tijuana.

According to the artist, it is intended that these crosswalks be seen by thousands of people, including residents and tourists and succeed in creating new visual attractions in the city that favor the promotion of the city.
