Interjet Airlines, owned by the family of Miguel Alemán Velasco, has made the respective request to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT) of Mexico to fly between Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta.

This request results from the bilateral open skies agreement signed in December last year between the government of the United States and Mexico and came into force on Sunday, August 21.

That is why experts and analysts predict the beginning of seeing benefits derived by this air opening including competition flights, services, prices and more tourists visiting the region serviced by the PVR Airport of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

This week it was confirmed that the airline owned by the Alemán family and directed by Miguel Aleman Magnani, is applying to the Department of Transportation United States to open four new routes to the airport in Los Angeles, California (LAX).

Interjet aims to increase its presence in the largest airport in the southwest coast of the United States with the request made to DOT opening four new routes out of Aguascalientes, Leon-Bajio, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos - routes except Aguascalientes which is operated by Volaris - which are not operated by another Mexican airline.
