'The Law of the Rancher' on Act II Entertainment's Main Stage Gary R. Beck - Beck's Best

Group Dionisio Theatre celebrates its fourth anniversary (formed 2012) with this wonderful play which provides delicious summer fare. It is in Spanish but anyone slightly knowledgeable of the language will have an awareness. For those who are not bilingual, the acting, occasional music, dresses (marvelous tight-waisted flowing traditional Mexican style) and facial expressions are both funny yet serious.

Written by playwright Hugo Salcedo, the storyline involves three couples who meet in a gay cantina somewhere in Northern Mexico. Themes involve love problems and passion, with the main character, Kid, holding together the plot and various themes of the story with several narrations.

Theater-goers are so fortunate to have this classy Act II Entertainment stage for plays and large musical events. This presentation featured many actors without crowding in the space often.

The play is directed by Juan Carlos Ramírez and Juan Pablo Hernández Salcedo. Both directors are part of the cast, in addition to César Daniel Bravo Ramírez (Equus and Princesas Desesperadas),
Samantha Dueñas, César Trujillo, Omar Lucián, Edgar Sánchez, Alejandro Lamas, Eduardo Tapia, Oliver Michelena, Cecilia Calatachea, Elena Rosales, Rafael Reyes, Alexis Velasco and Antonio Diamante Negro.

This is a great experience learning new local talent. Act II is commended for presenting their efforts. The motto is support the area's enormous local talent, whether singers, dancers, actor or musicians.

It would be difficult and not appropriate to single out crowd-favorites. Visit and view for yourself. The local stages are thrilled in giving them a well-deserved spotlight.

There will be two more performances of La Ley del Ranchero (The Law of the Rancher) on Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27 at 8:00 pm.
