One of the most controversial projects of the City of Puerto Vallarta in the last few years, the renewal of Los Muertos Pier, keeps advancing and nearing completion.
 
We've been following the status of the pier since its closure on November 8, 2010, as part of a big project which had the main goal of revitalizing downtown Puerto Vallarta.
 
The problem was that there were not enough funds for every project and the pier was left as an afterthought once the works at the Malecon started. Nobody could be seen working at the pier for months.

But that's in the past. Now you can see advancement in the works almost every day, which is promising and encouraging for the businesses of the area that have been the most affected by the construction.
 
Once finished, the new Los Muertos Pier will for sure become a symbol of the new face of Puerto Vallarta; still an old town with cobblestone streets, but also a modern city that is always looking to improve its infrastructure for the benefit of its residents and visitors.
