Enjoy a great variety of fun things to do this weekend in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. Who said it was the "slow" season here?

Jorge Acosta's Sunset Serenade at Daiquiri Dick's

Why not start your weekend off at Daiquiri Dick's with a Sunset Serenade on Friday evening, July 27, 2012.

Jorge Acosta, Vallarta's favorite strolling musician, will be performing a special show at 8:00 pm.

Daiquiri Dick's is located on Los Muertos Beach in Old Town Vallarta at Olas Altas 314.

Tickets are 150 pesos and are being sold in advance at the restaurant or you may buy them at the door. Dinner reservations are suggested. The sunset is free.

Market Co-op at Paradise Community Center

As most of you know, the Old Town Farmer's Market moved to the Emiliano Zapata School providing much needed space for them. They have closed for the summer but many of the vendors have joined us at the Paradise Community Center.

Come hungry to the Farmer's Market co-op every Saturday morning at 9:00 until 11:30 for a great variety of treats to eat and drink. Vendors offer freshly baked breads, tamales, pies and pastry, coffee, produce and even asian dishes.

Visit the PuRR booth where they always have adorable kitties for adoption, shop the artisan booths for jewelry, ceramics, purses and art objects.

It's always fun and full of treasures.

The Saturday Market Co-op is at the Paradise Community Center, 127 Pulpito, Old Town.

Kung Fu Panda at Cuale Auditorium
    
In the Valley of Peace, Po the Panda finds himself chosen as the Dragon Warrior despite the fact that he is obese and a complete novice at martial arts.

The date is Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 12:00 noon at the Cuale Cultural Center Auditorium (Auditorio Centro Cultural Cuale), on the island in the center of the Rio Cuale.

Free Admission and you can bring your own popcorn and soda.

Storytelling at CECATUR Auditorium
    
Storytelling is a show inspired mainly in children and will be take place at CECATUR Auditorium.

The date is Saturday, July 28th, 2012, at 7:00 pm at the CECATUR Auditorium, also known as the Agustin Flores Contreras Cultural Auditorium, located at the corner of Zaragoza and Matamoros (Near the Main Plaza) in Centro Puerto Vallarta.

There is no convenient parking available for this venue and taxis are recommended.

4th Annual Junior Fishing Tournament in La Cruz

Grab the kids and head to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle on Sunday, July 29, for the 4th Annual Junior Fishing Tournament.

500 young anglers are expected at Marina Riviera Nayarit and will start fishing at 8:00 am.

Competing for the many prizes including fishing equipment, bicycles and other surprises will be two different age groups of  4-8 years old and 9-12 years old. Only the 4 and 5 year olds will be allowed assistance by their parents.

The tournament is open to all children in the area and the entry is free. The competition will end at 12:00 noon and the winners will be determined.

PEACE Beach Clean-Up
    
The schedule for the every other Sunday beach clean-up this summer is July 29, August 12, August 26, September 2, September 16 and September 30.

Meet them at 8:30 am for an hour or two at the north side of the mouth of Rìo Cuale where the beach access is by the "sails." Bags and gloves provided.
