The expansive lobby of the Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta sets the laid-back vibe when guests walk in.

Heading south from Puerto Vallarta along Highway 200, the landscape changes from the cobblestone streets and red-roofed buildings with fragrant jacaranda trees of the Zona Romantica to a dense, lush jungle.

The highway, the coastal channel that runs the length of Jalisco into the neighboring state of Nayarit, breaks for dramatic ocean vistas with views of Los Arcos in the distance. It's along this stretch of road where travelers will find the brand-new Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta, the latest all-inclusive, adults-only resort to open as part of the Fiesta Americana brand.

The mood of the resort is set upon arrival, as the lobby is decorated with comfy couches and chairs, with a fully stocked bar to the right and expansive, open-air views over the Bay of Banderas. The resort capitalizes on its location and embodies a laid-back lounge vibe in all of its public spaces and rooms.

The 443 suites at the resort give off a modern feeling, all with ocean views and private balconies. For something more exclusive, book the Grand Club Suites. These romance-themed rooms are designed with honeymooners and couples in mind. They are located on three floors of Tower I and II and have their own lobby with private check-in and rooms with Jacuzzis and other amenities for couples.

There are 16 restaurants and bars on the property, all with distinct, full menus that are all fully inclusive. The highlights at the resort are the elegant Italian restaurant, Gulietta; the Mexican restaurant, Rojo Corazon; and the poolside La Cevicheria.
