Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
Reception for Coast Guard Cutter Alert - Monday
An old friend, the Alert, arrived PV yesterday and departs on Tuesday. A reception for Officers and Chiefs will be held Monday the 21st, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Murphy's Irish Pub on the Malecon. Please try to attend if only briefly to welcome these fine sailors to PV. An Irish buffet plus drinks will be available for a modest donation fee of 200 pesos, part of which will offset the cost of hosting the Alert's wardroom.
Spring Jazz Concert on the Beach - Monday
As a prelude leading up to the annual Spring Jazz Festival on Monday, March 21, there were concerts nightly last week at the ever popular Cuates & Cuetes by the Los Muertos Pier in Old Town Vallarta.
Monday, March 21 is the GRAND FINALE: Spring Jazz Concert On the Beach (4-10 pm) with Moruno, Tatewari, El Diablito Trio, Paco Barajas, Faralae, Tito Rodriguez y Proyecto Montenegro, and more.
There is no cover charge for these events but food and drink is available from Cuates & Cuetes.
Ceviche & Aguachile Market at the Pier - Tuesday
Every Tuesday there is a Ceviche and Aguachile Market taking place on Francisca Rodriguez, the walk-street leading to the Los Muertos Pier in Old Town Puerto Vallarta.
Come and enjoy a variety of ceviche and aguachiles prepared by neighbors, merchants and restaurateurs of the region in this culinary and cultural weekly event.
Enjoy an amazing variety of culinary delights such as coconut shrimp ceviche and return each Tuesday throughout the season between 12:00 and 4:00 pm to sample all the delicious selections while being entertained by live music.
Adios to Mexico Party in La Cruz - Tuesday
Hey, all you amigos and amigas....before you sail or fly or drive away from your winter home please join us for a wonderful, fun-filled PARTY among friends.
Everyone loves an auction, a real live auction....that wonderful sound of the auctioneer's chanting awaits you on Tuesday, March 22, 6:00 pm with Col. Cal calling the event.
The venue is Oso's Oyster Bar & Restaurant at the Marina in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, right on the water.
All your friends will be there, it's the last party of the season!
Kitty Bingo at Margarita Grill - Wednesday
Our final Kitty Bingo for PuRR Project of the season will be at the Margarita Grill on Wednesday, March 23.
Get there early for a good seat ~ tickets go on sale at 4:30 pm; the fun starts at 5:00.
Last chance to shout “Meow” for great prizes.
Tango Lessons in La Cruz - Thursday
Every Thursday, Tango classes will be held at La Cruz' Octopus's Garden with Miriam and Froy.
Miriam Krashnan, originally from Mexico City, and Froyamel Corro, from Morelia, are both classically trained in ballet and modern dance. Their passion for Argentine Tango and their success at the World Tango Festival in Buenos Aires make them sought-after performers and teachers in competitions, festivals and workshops throughout Mexico.
Miriam and Froy are Tango world semi-finalists. They will be leading instruction in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Riviera Nayarit from 7:00 until 8:30 pm.
Ky-Mani Marley & Kassiano at Reggae Fest - Friday
Puerto Vallarta will host the first edition of the Reggae Festival, which will bring Ky-Mani Marley, son of legendary musician Bob Marley, to Puerto Vallarta on March 25, 2016 from 4:00 until 10:30 pm.
The musical event will feature an international lineup, including Kassiano, Konfrontation Band, La Yaga, and the Maurice Englishman & the Profile Band, among others.
Roxy Fitness Run+SUP+Yoga - Saturday
The Riviera Nayarit will be the first destination in Mexico to host the #Roxyfitness Run+SUP+Yoga on March 26, 2016, an exclusive event for women who like the sporting life.
Organized by Roxy and sponsored by Liverpool and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) with the support of the Nayarit State Government and the Banderas Bay City Council, the #Roxyfitness event will take place on the beach at the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta.
This innovative sporting event is not a competition - it's all for the fun of gathering 1,000 women who want to enjoy Run+SUP+Yoga in Mexico’s top luxury destination.
Beers, Boys & Burgers Pool Party - Sunday
Want to see hot guys in swimwear every Sunday? And top off that view with unlimited juicy burgers and cold beer? Then our Beers, Boys & Burgers event at Hotel Mercurio is your perfect Sunday Funday!
