Travelocity Roaming Gnome

The Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) and Travelocity.com.mx joined to launch a campaign titled "Battle of Destinations III"  which invites everyone at a worldwide level to participate online to vote for "The best beach destination for families" and Puerto Vallarta is one of the nominated destinations, along with Acapulco, Cancun, Ixtapa, and Mazatlan.

The dynamic is very simple: You need to access the website Batalla de Destinos and select Puerto Vallarta.

The destination that accumulates the highest amount of votes will be named "The Best Beach Destination for Families."

The voting will begin on Tuesday, July 17 and finish on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

But also, in order to encourage the votes for our touristic destination, Puerto Vallarta's Tourism Trust has launched its own contest, which consists of uploading a picture with Travelocity's Gnome at any of the many interesting sites in our city to the Official Fan Page of Puerto Vallarta.

The details of competition are:

• The contest also begins on Tuesday, July 17, and finishes on Tuesday, July 24

• Take a picture in any interesting site in Puerto Vallarta with the Gnome

• Since the Gnome is not in the city, the use of Photoshop, photomontages and/or costumes are allowed to simulate its presence

• Upload the picture to the Official Fan Page of Puerto Vallarta and share it with your friends and/or contacts

• The pictures will be received throughout the day and will be valid for voting until 10:00 am of the next day

• Every day a winner will be announced: The picture with more "Likes" will win

• When announcing the ultimate winner (Tuesday July 24, 2012), the Official Fan Page of Puerto Vallarta will post the 7 photos at the same time to encourage voting for the favorite. The voting will close on Friday, July 27th, 2012, and the absolute winner will be announced.

Awards:

• Each day a prize drawing for a tour or a meal will take place (it can be either breakfast, lunch or dinner)

• Prizes are redeemable for one year from the end of the contest

• It will be for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years of age

Final Award (absolute winner):

• A weekend at an all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Vallarta

• Redeemable for one year from the end of the contest

• It will be for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years of age
