The wine glasses are ready to be filled in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit from February 24 to February 28 for the X Jalisco Nayarit Vallarta Wine Fest 2016 edition in 9 restaurants and 5 hotels in this region.

This year, Wine Festival includes a Keynote Lecture, the Third National Meeting of Winemakers & Sommeliers, the Wine Expo and Traditional Folk Festival.

The Organizing Committee headed by Ignacio Cadena Beraud reported that the tenth edition of Vallarta-Nayarit Wine Fest 2016 starts on Wednesday February 24 at 6:00 pm with a welcome to the participants, press, restaurants, hotels, winemakers and sommeliers at Casa Velas; the presence of more than a dozen experts in the process of winemaking is expected, how to serve and pairings.

Participating restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are La Dolce Vita, La Leche, Portobello, La Terraza di Roma, and in Riviera Nayarit Portobello Bistro & Lounge and La Dolce Vita in Nuevo Vallarta; Frascati in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle; and Don Pedros in Sayulita.

Andrea restaurant at Velas Vallarta will also participate along with Emiliano at Casa Velas; Luca at Grand Velas Nuevo Vallarta; Tramonto Mayan Palace and Melanzane at the Hyatt.

The program continues on Thursday, February 25, at 11:00 am with the Winemakers and Sommeliers National Meeting to be held with the theme "The Wine Regions of Mexico and Quality" in the Hotel Friendly Vallarta, Caracol Salon. Free entrance.

The Keynote Lecture will take place on Friday, February 26 at 11:00 am with the theme "Wine Regions of Mexico" in the Hotel Friendly Vallarta. Free entrance.

At 6:00 pm, the Festival continues with a series of pairings, tastings, training in wine service and its protocol and presentation of special wines at participating hotels and restaurants.

On Saturday February 27 the Expo Vino (Wine Expo) will take place at 6:00 pm in the conference room of Velas Vallarta, with tasting and sale of the best Mexican promotional pricing wines in this exhibition with participation of oenologists and winemakers from the best wineries in Mexico.

Special prices for restaurants and hotels in Puerto Vallarta will be given from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Open to the public from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.

On Sunday February 28 the Traditional Cultural Folk Wine Festival will take place at 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm in Lazaro Cardenas Square. This popular celebration includes tasting and sale of wines and cuisine of the participating restaurants of the Vallarta-Nayarit Wine Festival with a party atmosphere, music, and very reduced prices.

Note that this Festival has contributed greatly to the spread of wine and food culture in this region; one of the most important segments of tourism for visitors looking for high-level dining experiences.

Also the Festival of this event is characterized by generating a great response from the community in the tasting and sale of wines and food from participating restaurants in a lively popular celebration, where an attendance of more than three thousand people live and enjoy parties, locals and visiting tourists in great cordiality, a phenomenon that exists only in Puerto Vallarta, unlike other domestic destinations.
