In order to raise awareness and promote HIV prevention in youth, the Vallarta Youth Institute continues to provide training on preventative measures among middle school and high school students in the municipality, supported by civil associations in Guadalajara including "Vias de Vida."
Marcela Hernandez Gallardo, head of the Vallarta Institute for Youth, explained that there will be a three day training session for a group of teenagers and young adults interested in becoming educators who will provide clear and accurate information about HIV, risk behaviors and safe sex to their peers.
The partnership with Vias de Vida is with schools throughout the state of Jalisco, offering similar programs statewide.
There will also be a summer course "Jóvenes Promotores de Vida" which begins today, July 16, to cover issues such as sexuality, eroticism, prevention, family planning, and other topics.
