Comedy Store veteran "super-commedienne" Shawn Pelofsky declared this is her 18th year in the comedy career in now her third season at The Palm. A clever video was played as the show opened. "Hello, Remember me? It's me, your Mother." Poor dear was not invited on the trip to Puerto Vallarta.

During Christmas, there is nothing more Mexican than "Feliz Navidad," próspero año y felicidad. Her show opened with that carol, setting a festive Holiday mood regardless of your religion. She offered Happy Hanukkah and "for that religion the blacks celebrate."

She holds sharp, witty and spontaneous conversations with various members of the audience from the dreaded front row to the very rear of the second floor. She chats with them and jokes. No one is spared. She is high energy and well-known for her adult humor where no subject is off-limits.

Her comic sketches and improv with Will Ferrell prepped her for a solo career. Shawn has worked the gay comedy clubs and cruises and feels everyone is gay, whether they accept it or not. Oh how she loves to pick on the heteros in the crowd. Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves and take their ribbing as she scoured the guests, all becoming victims of her on-target humor. Her comments concerning gays, both me and women, are particularly funny and stem from her personal experiences over the years.

Shawn relates funny stories of her life and the current situations of old favorites religion and politics. She has the innate gift of spouting comic off-the-cuff lines.

One particular highlight was her wonderful impression of the distinctive Bette Midler as Sophie Tucker. This skit must be seen to be believed. Showing the generosity of her heart, she tours and performs for American troops overseas.

"If you liked me, my name is Shawn Pelofsky. If you didn't, my name is Kathy Griffith."

We did not like her, we loved her! She has upcoming shows so to usher in the Holiday Season with a night of comedy, attend and come for big laughs.
