Ramón Guerrero

Born in Jalisco's capital city of Guadalajara, 35-year old Ramón Guerrero studied Communication Science & Techniques. He worked in various governmental functions.

As local deputy, he promoted the elimination of the yearly fees for vehicle ownership (tenencia), the acquisition of material to improve the homes of Vallartan families and the signature of the agreement with Conagua to end the annual floodings of the Coastal University Center (CUC) of the University of Guadalajara, among others.

Guerrero, previously of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) party, left it to create the Movimiento Ciudadano for Puerto Vallarta, the Citizen's Movement Party.

Among the various topics he touched upon during his campaign, Guerrero proposed the following:

• Support for mothers who are the breadwinners in their families, with monthly stipends for their children's education, credit lines to help set up a business, support for the neighborhood daycare centers.

• Free backpacks with school supplies – and shoes - for students at the primary & secondary levels.

• Scholarships for top students at all levels.

• Financial support for senior citizens 60 and over, and creation of a Care of Senior Citizens Institute.

• Participative budgets wherein people will decide which public works must be realized, and how the City’s budget should be used.

• Renewal of the mandate, i.e.: half-way through his administration, he will let the people decide if he's done a good job or not. In case of the latter, "se va el gobierno" (his administration will leave).

• Social accounting: The City's Controller will be elected by the citizens and coordinate with the social departments'  controllers composed of citizens who will supervise the works undertaken by the City.
