With various activities for cleaning, conservation and recovery of the Cuale River Island, Puerto Vallarta will join the International Ecology Day, which falls on November 1, which promotes citizen participation in care of the flora and fauna of this natural space, as announced by the Councillor Bellanni Fong Patiño, President of the Ecology Edilicia Commission.

"I'm fully convinced that we can get the Vallarta that we love restored with teamwork and working side by side and start planting that seed of change driven by our Director Arturo Davalos Peña to be a green city," he said at a press conference.

To do this, Vallarta has prepared a comprehensive program which is divided into four stages that take place throughout the month of November, which has been designated as the "Month of Ecology Vallarta," and that it will bring together neighbors, schools, government agencies and specialists in conservation and the environment.

The activities begin on Sunday November 1 with cleanup days on the Cuale River until Saturday, November 7th. Sanitation of the river will be supported by the Division of Environment and Ecology. On November 21, reforestation will begin. All work will be done on a schedule of 10:00 am until two in the afternoon.

"With this project we want to plant the seed for the future to make this place a sanctuary of green iguanas and other species that live there, projecting not only the theme of ecology, but also the issue of tourism and education to name a few," said Fong Patiño, adding that the goal is to add to the botanical garden atmosphere of Cuale Island.
