Jesse Tyler of Modern Family Vacationed at Riviera Nayarit's St. Regis Punta Mita Riviera Nayarit CVB

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau Celebrity Watch detected the presence of actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson in the Destination’s Glamour Peninsula.

Once he posted on social media, it became known that Jesse and his husband, Justin Mikita, were staying at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort.

The redheaded American actor has played Mitchell Pritchell, one of the main characters on ABC’s very popular comedy, Modern Family, since 2009.

The couple looked very happy during their stay, and they even snapped a shot in Las Islas Marietas, an icon of the Riviera Nayarit’s.

Once it was revealed the trip was a surprise prepared by Justin, the actor couldn’t contain his joy, so much so that he posted “Not ready to leave @stregispuntamita. It's paradise here! Thanks for the rest & relaxation. #stregispuntamita” on his Instagram account, @jessetyler.

The presence of this same-sex couple in the Riviera Nayarit — and a very famous one at that for those in the United States who are in favor of gender freedom — is one more example of the openness of the Destination towards the LGBT market.
