ACT LGBT A.C and Vallarta Pride are pleased to inform you that the first collective petition of gay and lesbian marriages in Puerto Vallarta will be held August 7, 2015 at the Civil Registry in Puerto Vallarta.
We are seeking interested couples to join this effort.
We are also being told that foreigners living in Mexico are encouraged to sign the petition. The organizers are stating that you should present your temporary or permanent resident card. Please confirm this with the organizers and you might consult legal counsel before doing so.
Requirements:
Send a copy of you and your partner's IFE to info@vallartapride.com.
In a few days you will be given the date when everyone will go and sign the civil registry applications (Calle Perú de doble sentido 1392, 5 de Diciembre, 48350 Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco).
WE ARE GOING FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN JALISCO!
The Mexican Supreme Court ruled last month the law stating the goal of marriage is procreation and that defines marriage as celebrating the union of a man and a woman is unconstitutional. Currently in Jalisco it is not possible for gay couples to marry. Each participating couple will petition for marriage, in Mexico this legal process is called amparo, and with enough signatures the coordinated effort will change the civil code in Jalisco.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
From activities like hiking, swimming, bike riding and yoga, to restaurants offering healthy menus, Vallarta-Nayarit is the ideal place to continue - or start - your healthy lifestyle routine.
