Mexico's Pacific Coast resort city of Puerto Vallarta has everything an event planner could want, what with its location on beautiful Banderas Bay, its numerous golf courses, and its abundant meeting-quality hotels (more than 80 by our count). The city's well-established tourism infrastructure makes for smooth-running meetings, conventions, and incentives. In la ciudad mas amigable del mundo (the friendliest city in the world), resorts are extending offers of valuable freebies as well as special rates. Featured here are five such packages at three Puerto Vallarta resorts. (Read requirements carefully)

• Three Ways to Save. At the 475-room Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center, a promotion for meetings, "Opportunities Are Better When Shared," offering rates of US$110-$340 and lots of inclusions has been extended, but you must book and hold your meeting by June 30. If you can't act that fast, perhaps "A Hole-in-One Is Better When Shared" would suit your group. Offering rates of US$198-$295 for oceanview rooms, the resort's all-inclusive F&B plan, airport meet-and-greet and transport, a round of golf, and inclusive of taxes, it's a nice package for groups taking 10 rooms minimum for three nights. (This offer is valid until December 20, 2015.) For incentive groups, a promotion called "Ideas Are Better When Shared," with rates of US$120-$235, includes oceanview rooms, all meals, snacks, and unlimited beverages (premium brands), 1-for-35 comp rooms policy, a private dinner in one of the resort's gourmet restaurants (100 people minimum), 20% discount on spa treatments, and more. (Validity dates for the incentive package are now through August 31, 2015.)

• Sweet Deal on Suites. With 345 suites, the Velas Vallarta Suite Resort, gives attendees oversized accommodations for the small price of US$165. Other benefits include cool towel and beverage on arrival, free Wi-Fi, one comp suite for every 30 paid, and meeting space. In addition, the planner can choose three added perks from this list: Complimentary cocktail reception for one hour with live band, airport transportation for five VIPs, four-hour continuous coffee break (beverages and snacks) each day, early check-in/late check-out, or 10 complimentary spa experiences. Book by September 30, 2015 for your 2015 or 1026 meeting.

• Go Ahead, Splurge. At the 267-room Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, you can afford to splurge on a spectacular private event because labor for set-up is free. If you have a private dinner event, that means four hours of free set-up; for a cocktail reception, that means one hour of free set-up. In addition, the offer includes 50% discount on coffee breaks during your sessions, provides group members a free welcome cocktail, and extends the negotiated group room rate for two days before and two days after the event. Valid for meetings in September or between December 1 and 15, 2015. Book by December 1, 2015.
