La Isla del Río Cuale (Cuale River Island) is an oasis separating Downtown and Old Town Puerto Vallarta because it combines leisure, education, culture and contemplation in a superb natural space.
Therefore, the Vallarta Institute of Culture has begun the rehabilitation of the island with the development of a mural at the headquarters of the School of Music of the Municipal Children's Orchestra.
The property had suffered in recent years with a progressive deterioration due to inclement weather. Masonry renovation works were carried out to make a wall space of more than 60 meters by 3.50 meters high.

The work is titled "Music Unites Us All" and displays a musical symphony played by children and animals and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. The creator of the work is Ernesto Garrigos Rojas, who has done several urban murals in Puerto Vallarta, most notably that of the Cuale Municipal Market.
The director of the Institute of Culture Vallarta, Marcella Lepe, noted the need to dignify the Cuale River Island, the most representative of cultural space in Vallarta, by making an all out effort in cleaning, restoration, painting and signage according to the environment. She stated that more recovery efforts will be announced soon.
"It is intended that the citizens and tourists of Vallarta will find harmony, cleanliness and vegetation to greet them on their visit to the Cuale Cultural Center," she added.
