The people of La Cruz did such a great job with the arroyo clean up last week that our Delagado, Polo, is arranging another for this Saturday, 20 June.
We’re meeting at 8:00 am, más o menos, at El Profe on the lateral and will clean the canal in the colony of el Mangal.
In addition to cleaning litter and plastics, the Amigos will distribute informational flyers and leave recycling bins.
Not only does La Cruz benefit from a cleaner appearance but it’s great exercise (as my aching hamstrings will testify).
If you have your own gloves (especially gardening gloves) and can bring bags, please do, but we can also provide the basics.
In spite of the last minute notice we had a nice turn out last week for the arroyo clean up. It’s a never ending job but we’ll keep battling until we win! Also a big thanks to Polo, the municipality, the police who watched over us, and to everyone who worked together to make it happen. Oh yeah, last but not least – thanks for the delicious tortas, sodas and water!
