As part of Puerto Vallarta’s ongoing initiatives to maintain its status as one of Mexico’s premier tourism destination, which included the restructuring of its iconic boardwalk, el Malecón, and a new tourism branding, this week the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board presented a new version of its official website: www.visitpuertovallarta.com
The presentation of the new brand and ongoing restructuring of the destination’s infrastructure was first done at this year’s Tianguis, when Aurelio López Rocha, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Jalisco, Guillermo Ohem, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, Salvador Gonzalez Resendiz, the Mayor of the City of Puerto Vallarta and Luis Angarita, President of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Puerto Vallarta, unveiled the new logo, slogan and the official video of Puerto Vallarta during a press conference.
Now, as part of the May Cultural Festival and Restaurant Week, Puerto Vallarta unveils an upgraded version of a more user-friendly official Web site.
Some of the new features of the Web site include a new main slideshow which contains four rotating striking images that redirect to the main sections of the Web site, replacing the previous background images with each section will now display a banner with related images. Banner ads positions have been changed on the home page to allow more access and the main video of the Social Media section (located within the Home page), has increased in size for a better visibility.
As part of the strategy to attract more visitors to Puerto Vallarta, a Booking Engine has also been added to the Web site to allow visitors to search and book hotels, flights and car rentals easily through Travelocity.com and BestDay.com.
The new official website of PuertoVallarta can be best experienced with Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox and Safari; on Internet Explorer, the main slideshow will be displayed differently do to plug-in compatibility.
