If you have old or broken electronics cluttering your life, this is your chance to get rid of them.

The 5th Annual Inter-Municipal Campaign to Accumulate and Recycle Discarded Electronic Equipment (ElectroAcopio 2015) will take place in Puerto Vallarta this Friday and Saturday (March 13 and 14) from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.

You may dispose of fax machines, tablets, computers, gaming consoles, hard disks, telecommunications devices, laptops, electrónic cards, cellular and smart phones, iPods, computer monitors (together with a CPU, monitors without a computer are not accepted), computer mouse devices, modems, printers, copiers, DVD/CD/MP3 players, keyboards, small electrodomestic devices, microwave ovens, radios and stereo equipment.

TVs, light bulbs, monitors without a computer, and domestic appliances other than those listed above will not be received.

There will be three drop-off locations open from 8:00 am through 4:00 pm for the general public, and one more for large generators of electronic waste:

• Francisco Villa parking lot of the sporting complex on Medina Ascencio at Francisco Villa

• Soriana Pitillal (parking lot across from the cinema)

• Ixtapa Delegation Plaza (Avenida Independencia at Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, Ixtapa)

For large electronic waste generators, also open from 8:00 am through 4:00 pm Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14:

• PV International Convention Center (Avenida Paseo de las Flores), in the bus access area)

Large electronic waste generators may register in advance by sending an e-mail message to either martinez@reciclaelectronicos.com or to medioambientepv@hotmail.com.

Keep in mind that electronic waste is not received by landfills due to its potentially hazardous nature. All collected electronic waste will be delivered to a recycling company having the appropriate certifications.
