Known as having "The Voice of an Angel," Amy Armstrong opened her solo performances at The Palm Cabaret without Freddy Allen. She has grown to become one of this town's favorite performers.
This is her tenth year at The Palm and her following has skyrocketed deservedly so. The audience was one of the most excited and appreciative we have witnessed in months.
There was nearly a standing ovation as she entered the stage singing "Hey Big Spender."
She brought on the famed Argentinian duo Bohemia Viva!: Andrea Mottura harmonizing beautifully and Luis Lujan on guitar with vocals. The trio worked smoothly together singing classic tunes mixed with newer popular hits. Works by Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and Elton John made the onlookers sigh in the beauty of the performances.
A crowd-pleasing standout was her terrific salute to Patsy Cline with Willie Nelson's composition "Crazy."
Amy's comedic banter throughout was highly sexual in nature, with dozens laughing at each joke.
The show continued with the Beatles' well-known soothing ballads "Blackbird" and "Yesterday."
Amy's voice is clear and clean. Her solid vocals were complimented by Andrea's harmony and Luis' fine strumming backdrop. It was a marvelous bonus having this established duo backing a top quality songstress.
She graciously yielded the spotlight to Bohemia Viva! who revealed their impressive talents which soon can be enjoyed at their upcoming shows at The Palm.
Having recently accomplished a successful string of performances on RSVP Cruise Line, her appeal seems to be worldwide, especially throughout the Americas and Europe.
The setting of The Palm venue is people-friendly with soft yet firm cushy chairs, large cocktail tables, unobstructed views and attentive yet respectful service.
Reservations are definitely recommended as the shows sell out quickly. Pick up your tickets at The Palm Box Office at Olas Altas 508 in Old Town Vallarta which opens daily at 11:00 am or online at Vallarta Tickets.
A big thanks is extended to Tracy Parks for signing such top acts, some longtime favorites and others relatively new to the area. He broadens the world of live entertainment in this entire Banderas Area and is being rewarded justly with overflowing happy crowds.
