With an investment of 6 million from the Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM), the US reality show of The Bachelor in Paradise will film the second season in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

Marc Murphy, the Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit, announced that the filming will be a part of the tourism promotion campaign "Vallarta-Nayarit - Live it to Believe It."

Murphy stressed that it reaffirms the commitment of the CPTM to support our destination with The Bachelor episodes being shot in different locations around Banderas Bay for 6 weeks in May and June of this year.

He explained that locations will be sought to provide a strong draw to the destination including natural scenes like the Marieta Islands and Los Arcos in Mismaloya since the idea is to balance the visits to highlight each destination places.

The Bachelor is one of the most watched reality show in America with approximately 7 million viewers per episode according to the latest Nielsen ratings.

Murphy continued that Episode 3 from last year's The Bachelor Canada was filmed in Nuevo Vallarta and even though it was only the one episode, it gave "very impressive coverage in Canada so you can imagine the impact that will be received from the entire season of The Bachelor America."

The official announcement was made a week ago at the Casa Velas Resort in Puerto Vallarta, where about 60 people representing the tourism sector attended, confirming the production in this destination.

The Bachelor is an American reality show that debuted in September 2002 on ABC. It revolves around a young attractive man looking to find love and being courted by 25 women. After a series of group and individual dates with the ladies, eliminations take place after each episode until the Bachelor finally chooses one who is declared winner of that season.

The identity of the "Bachelor" for the episodes being filmed in Vallarta-Nayarit has not yet been announced.
