| Wind Festival Ignites the Mexican Town of Bucerias Surfer Today | |

The Festival del Viento 2012 (Wind Festival) is returning to Bucerias on May 18 to May 20, 2012, bringing the best kiteboarders of the Mexican states, such as Colima, Baja, Merida, Sinaloa and Jalisco.
The third edition of Festival del Viento will display a classic Freestyle Competition, but the organization is also planning a Downwind Slalom Contest and a Long Distance Race for those seeking kiteboarding marathons.
The Downwind Slalom is scheduled to link La Cruz de Huanacaxtle to Bucerias, in an exciting six-kilometer track.
The weather conditions are great in May and all riders should expect warm temperatures and 20-knot winds.
Last year, the Freestyle category of the Festival del Viento was dominated by Juan Pablo Maytorena, in the Open division, Luis Aviña, in the National division and by Warenka Smutny, in the Women's division.
Bucerias is a small fishing village located in Nayarit, Mexico, about 30 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta.
The Wind Festival 2012 will be taking place at the Bucerias Beach beginning at 10:00 am on Friday, May 18, and continuing until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 20.
