In Juvenile Integration Center (CIJ: Centros de Integración Juvenil, A.C.) volunteering represents the possibility of involving people and organizations into comprehensive assistance regarding drug use, through a mutual responsibility enabling collaboration in benefit of the most vulnerable communities.

Nowadays, the Volunteers in Action Network from CIJ has more than 7 thousand people spending their time, knowledge and experience into our institution.

In CIJ, volunteers represent the 57% of institutional coverage.

The strategy of Mobilization of the community is an distinctive element of the prevention program "To live with no addictions." Therefore with the participation of male and female volunteers in CIJ it strengthens the social cohesion and the citizenship work, allowing to involve community people into the comprehensive assistance regarding drug use. In a joint way, institutions and organizations also promote a Network work which facilitates and strengthens the prevention actions about drugs in our country.

Therefore, on this International Volunteer Day 2014, CIJ makes a special recognition to all of the people involved in the Volunteers Network creating transcendental changes in communities through their day by day collaboration and by contributing with their time, dedication and experience.

On December 5 International Volunteer Day, CIJ recognizes the participation, the commitment and the effort of each and every one of the volunteers in the whole country and who are part of their Volunteers Network.

The International Volunteer Day designated by the United Nations is celebrated on December 5 of each year, and it represents recognition to all the volunteer actions by organizations and people which through their work contribute to local, regional and national development in different areas of action.
