Letter to my Cat (Part 1)

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food.

Please note: Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it to become your dish and food, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing, in the slightest!

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

Adoptions

Lexus being reassured by Rigoberto that cats & dogs CAN live together!

Well, it happened again... The last newsletter came out featuring Lexus and he was adopted the SAME DAY!! One of the Market vendors had good friends who she knew were looking for a rescue cat after losing a much beloved feline companion.

Fortunately, she steered them to our booth at the Saturday Co-Op Market and after giving all the kitties some lap time, James Wilson and Rigoberto decided that Lexus was the perfect candidate.

Then it was off to introduce him to the other household member, a large Rottie, who fortunately is accustomed to being bossed around by a little bitty kitty kat. Thanks, guys!

And speaking of dogs...

Leo is ready for his new family to find him!

While PuRR Project is devoted to felines, many of our volunteers love ALL animals and are often called to action when they find an animal suffering.

"Leo" the puppy was first spotted hiding in a vacant lot in the Marina in late January, obviously owned by someone as he was wearing a blue leather walking harness. There was no response to postings looking for his owner, so we think he was possibly abandoned... and possibly abused as he was the most frightened animal I have every seen and totally unapproachable.

PuRR volunteer Brenda Gill spent two months bringing food to him twice daily and the eventual reward was a new Leo who now trusts humans again and loves to play and go for a car ride or a walk. He has been neutered and given a clean bill of health and will soon be ready for adoption. Many thanks to the SPCA who have accepted him into their shelter. Luna at the Farmer's Market... whatcha' looking for, Luna??

 

Luna is about 3 months old now and was recently spayed by the vet at the PuRR shelter so she is ready to go!

She is all white except for a black tail and a couple of black patches, including one over her right eye (beautiful green eyes!) which gives her an exotic look.

She is very tiny and just the right age to easily assimilate into a home with other cats or dogs. Come check her out... or one of our many other kitties... at one of our adoption booths at Plaza Marina on Fridays or the Community Center Market on Saturdays.



 

Urgent Request from PuRR Project

One of the 3 male and 2 female cats soon to be homeless at Origene

The owner of Origenes store in Old Town has decided to close his store in May, a location which has been home to 5 adult cats. The store manager has been feeding and caring for them and has had them all neutered. The building's owner has announced that if homes are not found for the cats, he will 'dispose' of them.

The manager says she can take one but is desperate to find homes or FOSTERS for the other four.

If you can find it in your heart to take one of these lovely creatures, or know someone who might PLEASE contact Marilyn at exkhan@usfamily.net or Paul at PetHome Veterinaria, veterinariapethome@hotmail.com. We will include a large bag of cat food with each adoption.
