For the reconstruction of the stairs that lead to the Cuale Island that collapsed about three months ago, the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services is ready to rebuild the project which will require an investment of over one million pesos.
The plans for the reconstruction include a ramp for easy access to the island of seniors and people with disabilities.
Héctor Chaires Muñoz, Director of Infrastructure and Services, presented graphic slides for the rehabilitation of the stairs for universal accessibility over Cuale Island.
This project has the technical feasibility for implementation and the final design and is ready to be built.
Muñoz stated that the addition of the ramp as an inclusion to the steps is intended to create quality infrastructure and universal access to the Cuale Island in making it possible for people with disabilities, seniors and walkers with strollers to visit the island.
He said that this project has already been submitted to the Tenants Association of the Cuale Island, which also stated that the economic resources to perform the work is already being managed by the municipal government.
The new ramp access is planned to greatly enhance the popularity of the "Island" making it possible for all citizens and tourists in Puerto Vallarta to visit the 35 established businesses including restaurants, clothing, souvenirs and craft stores located on the River Walk which separates Downtown and Old Town Vallarta.
