Join the Fun Saturday for the 2nd Athletic Race in Riviera Nayarit CVB of Riviera Nayarit

The Samba Vallarta Hotel organized this free race to be held on World Tourism Day; open to the public, participants include hotel personnel, sports groups and tourists.

This Saturday, September 27, 2014, is World Tourism Day, to be celebrated in the Riviera Nayarit with the 2nd Annual Athletic Race at the Maestro Flamingos Condominium, organized by the Samba Vallarta Hotel. The race starts at 7 a.m.

Thanks to the success of the first race, which included the participation of more than 100 runners, this second edition already has over 300 registrants with the expectation of reaching 400 runners that will participate in the 5K race and 3K walk.

“This race is one of the many strategies of our management to help encourage sports and good health among our collaborators. Last year we had a lot of people ask if they could participate, which is why we considered opening it up to the public, a decision that was taken by our General Manager, Oscar Michaus Chico,” commented Fandor Ojeda, Training Coordinator for Samba Vallarta.

The competition brings together employees from different hotels such as Marival Group, Riu Jalisco and Villa del Palmar, just to mention a few, as well as regional sports groups and, more importantly, there will be participation by the tourists who are in the destination that day.

Fandor Ojeda commented that due to the interest of the guests the hotel is creating special packages for next year that will include the race, especially important this time of year in order to incentivize an increase in tourism.

Till now the registrants’ ages and genders run the gamut, as men, women, youths and seniors are all participating equally.

The first three winners will receive prizes in kind on behalf of the organizing hotel and the sponsors. The route starts at the Samba Vallarta and ends at the Marival Residences and will be attended by the proper authorities to guarantee the safety of the participants.

En el marco del Día Mundial del Turismo este sábado 27 de septiembre de 2014, se celebrará la 2da Carrera Atlética en el Condominio Maestro Flamingos, Riviera Nayarit, que organiza el Hotel Samba Vallarta y dará inicio a las 7:00 horas.

Gracias a la gran respuesta de la primera edición que convocó más de 100 personas, esta segunda edición ya tiene registrados más de 300 corredores y se espera un punto máximo de 400 participantes en las modalidades de carrera 5k y caminata 3k.

“La carrera surge como una política más de la dirección corporativa para fomentar la salud y el deporte entre los colaboradores de la empresa. El año pasado hubo personas que se acercaron para ver si podían participar, de ahí nace la inquietud de abrirlo al público y fue por eso que así lo decidió el director general, Oscar Michaus Chico”, comentó el coordinador de capacitación de Samba Vallarta, Fandor Ojeda.

Esta competencia conglomera a empleados de diferentes hoteles como Marival Group, Riu Jalisco y Villa del Palmar, por mencionar algunos, así como grupos deportivos de la región y lo más importante es que los turistas que están hospedándose este día, también participarán.

Al respecto, Fandor Ojeda, comentó que debido al interés de sus huéspedes por participar, el próximo año se crearán paquetes que incluyan la carrera, sobre todo en esta temporada del año para incentivar más afluencia turística.

Hasta el momento las inscripciones han marcado una tendencia amplia de edades y género, ya que hombres, mujeres, jóvenes y adultos mayores participarán por igual.

Los primeros tres lugares recibirán premios en especie por parte del hotel organizador y los patrocinadores. La ruta será desde Samba Vallarta hasta Marival Residences y contará con la presencia de autoridades competentes para garantizar la seguridad de los participantes.
