The Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Ramón Guerrero, recognized those who safeguard the integrity of Vallarta and that it is important that the government praise them with not only words, but with action.

Since Mayor Guerrero has taken office, efforts have been made to improve labor and life conditions for those that keep the community safe on a daily basis. He announced that in October, our Firefighters will receive a wage increase of 6 percent on top of the 4 percent that they received earlier this year and the 20 percent increase since last year. The goal is that next year the salary increase will reach a 50 percent increase over what they received before the arrival of this administration.

The Mayor of Puerto Vallarta also reported that all the members of the Fire Department, Civil Protection and Lifeguards may join the 'Casa Digna' program so they can have secure housing and improve the conditions of their homes. Also, their children will receive school support provided by the council.

Undoubtedly one of the most emotional moments was during the roll call with a memorial for firefighter Alain Lugo Beltrán and volunteer firefighter Víctor Rojas who died in the line of duty.

During this commemoration, a bonus award was announced based on seniority as an incentive for the work and commitment of all public servants. The second installment of uniforms was also announced, representing an investment of 232,000 pesos.

"If there is a company in the town that deserves appreciation and recognition from society, it is undoubtedly the Division of Civil, Fire and Lifeguard Protection," said the Mayor in recognizing the great commitment, dedication to service and delivery of this group of women and men, "regardless of the risks, they are always ready to provide assistance to the population and care for their safety."
